TEHRAN – Since the beginning of the current Iranian calendar year (March 21), some $1 billion has been allocated for importing medicine and medical equipment into the country, Tasnim news agency reported on Sunday.

Iran is an exporter of medicine and medical equipment to neighboring countries, including Russia, however the country imports some of its medical needs from Europe.
